About ICAN

ICAN (Independent Community Arts Network) is a gallery located in a 3800 square foot warehouse at 1310 Mission at 9th, directly across from the Guitar Center store in the SOMA district of San Francisco.

We present monthly exhibits of up to 15 artists, while showcasing acoustic to semiacoustic, or "quiet" bands from usually Thursdays through Saturdays and some Sundays. We are now starting a film night presented by the San Francisco Indiefest on a bimonthly basis on Tuesdays. Coming in July will be a monthly songwriters showcase conducted by Songs Alive.

ICAN is an attempt to bridge the gap among these disciplines, in a comfortable environment that is respectful of the art and the artists creating the works. Our facility is large but intimate with several couches and single seating to accommodate those in attendance. We also supply a full stage backline including a house drum kit, bass amp and guitars amps and a Kurzweil PC88 keyboard, along with a full PA system and monitors, just like they do in Nashville. Just plug in and play and leave the gear at home.

Shows at ICAN are all ages and we ask for a sliding scale donation of $5 to $20 at the door. We are also available for private rental too.

Contact us at ican@icangallery.com to set up an exhibit or concert.
